Soon after my first outing in the Atlantic back in March 08' I decided that surfing was for me...
Ciaran, Colin and myself headed to Bundoran Surf Co. and bought enough gear to set us on our way... the first steps to becoming surfers!
We all got NSP 7'7" Surf Series Boards... you could nearly drive a car over these and they'd still be ok!...although Colin's now has a dint - he claims it was a shark... I think not!
So thats a photo to the right of my board... it has served me well! and still does today.
The shop in Bundoran were doing starter packages so we got the board, wet suits, a leash, roof ties and of course our first bar of wax - Mrs. Palmers... I'll put up a post in few weeks showing how to wax a board for those of you who are starting out.
The wet suit was an O'Neills Epic 5:3, its a Winter suit but works grand in the summer - its easier to cool down in Irish waters than heat up! The suit looks pretty new in the photo above, I still have the same gear nearly 2 years later... could be time for an upgrade this year though... hopefully I'll be on a shorter board by the end of the year!
