A really good hostel is hard to come by in Sligo...but isn't it everywhere?
So where's the best place then... well, firstly where to avoid! I've stayed in the White House Hostel and the only pro is its location in the heart of the town. This place is pretty cheap so if your on a tight budget it'll keep a roof over your head for the night...dont expect to be over warm though!
Another one is the Harbour House Hostel... I've stayed here once with a big group and its not too bad as hostels go...its pretty clean and friendly. One of the cons is that its located in an industrial type area, a bit of a walk out from the town centre. The reception is not always open after working hours depending on the time of the season.
A good choice may be the Railway Hostel and you've guessed it... its located beside the bus and rail station. This is a family run hostel and is located just a few minutes walk from the heart of the action. The prices are reasonable and I've heard good reviews...its always booked out so that speaks for itself!
If your going fancy and need luxury (plastic surfer!) then there are plenty of hotels... the Park Hotel is nice but too far out of town, the Glass House could be a good bet.
