Spotted this on Tom Dodge's website.
Given our recent good news regarding Doolin Pier and Crab Island this would be an interesting conference to attend.
Surfrider Foundation Europe, Save The Wave Coalition, Surfers Against Sewage, Salvem o Surf, with the scientific support of Dr Tony Butt, are organizing the first major international conference on the recognition of the value of the waves and their international protection.
Similar minds will come together to share knowledge and seek the answers to questions such as:
How to define the value of a wave?
What are the threats to the waves?
What strategies can be put in place in order to protect them?
A link to the conference website is here.
I'll be keen to see the outcomes of this meeting and will update further when I hear word. I'm sure our recent win will be spoken of as a positive amongst the many waves that have been threatened in the past.
