Last weekend we popped down to Clare for a couple of nights to get a few surfs in... but as always when the opportunity for a hike or to grab some surf photos comes knocking on our door we're always willing and able!
First stop was a look at Crab Island to remind ourseleves of what exactly we're trying to save with the proposed pier at Doolin threatening its future. The wave was breaking nicely but wrong tide meant nobody was out unfortunately.
Calm, offshore winds for most of the weekend and a small but steady swell meant there was a good surf everyday on a couple of the many breaks about.
I've been keeping an eye on the charts for the past week and the swell forecasted for Monday morning and the remainder of the week was big! Winds were slightly against us in Clare so we hopped in the car Sunday night to make the trek to Donegal for Monday morning.
