The Monster Energy Surf Open Portrush will be held over two days, the 10th and 11th April and should be a great weekend.
The Causeway Coast Surf Club will be staging this years championship, the first leg in the new ISA tour of Ireland and its expected to attract big numbers this year with some of Ireland's best sufers competing.
The organisers have a whole festival lined up for the weekend starting on the Thursday night (8th April) with some live music planned... on the Friday night Richie Fitzgerald and Easkey Britton introduce a viewing of Waveriders, with the contest begining on the saturday.
This could be a good event to pencil into the calender and an opportunity for the waves at Portrush to be on show to the wider surfing community in Ireland.
